"To accompany the discovery of the collections, bgc studio convenes a formal universe respectful of the architecture imagined by Kengo Kuma, constructing an abstract landscape encouraging in turn contemplation, sharing, study or emotion. The narrative of the exhibition is structured by the images of the Journey around the World, which guide the visitor's path in the footsteps of Albert Dutertre, along a long frieze. The shape of the leporello, which unfolds like an accordion, evokes the unfolded maps of early travel guides and the panoramic vision. The museographic approach is intended to be both documentary and sensitive, simultaneously a vector of information and a source of constant aesthetic fascination in the face of a diversified visual corpus, made up of old and recent photographic processes. This fertile "material", a source of wonder, is declined in its modes of diffusion and representation, creating a dynamic in the hanging by serial compositions, backlit views, assemblies around a single photographic motif, audiovisual compositions scripted and set to music and narrative."(excerpt from the press release)
